Interest in studying in Europe is growing in certain key markets like Pakistan and Bangladesh in particular, according to a recent report on foreign students coming to Europe. Although India generates the largest share of relative demand, this fluctuates drastically and has gradually declined overall in recent years, the report adds.

The US also reported a 17.4% increase in the number of Pakistani students studying in the United States during 2021-22. This brought their number to 8,772, according to Open Doors. The Open Doors Report identified China and India as the largest sources of international students to the United States. During 2021-22, China sent 290,086 students, which is 30.6% of the total number of international students in the US, a decline of 8.6% from the previous year. India, which sent 199,183 students this year — 21% of the total — saw a 19% year-over-year increase. Together, China and India make up more than half of all international students in the United States.
The number of Pakistani students studying in Australia has also increased 21% to 20,935 in 2022. The number of first-time enrollments of Pakistanis jumped 71% in the year, according to ICEF Monitor.
Offsetting a decline in Chinese enrollments in Australia (177,470 in 2022, down 11% y-o-y) and zero momentum from India (128,980, up .03%) were notable enrollment increases from:

While this is a good news, on the other side it reflects badly on the diminishing opportunities in higher education in Pakistan, not coping with the increase in number of students.
And it reflects badly on the quality of higher education in Pakistan, overall.
Wondering how many are actually attending classes and how many have dropped out and are doing jobs in restaurants etc

International education is sought after everywhere, regardless of the origin or destination countries of students.

It's not unusual for college students to do odd jobs to earn a living. Some work in restaurants. Others drive taxis, many work on campus, etc. It's no taboo.

Exactly their are many students from different countries specially from China , Korea and Russia who are studying in the universities of America and West .
This clearly shows that quality and standard of education in the universities of West specially that in the universities of America is still at next level or very high as compared to these countries .

Thanks for your comments and post , pls note that their is no comparison of the universities of West with universities of Pakistan when it comes to quality of education , but pls note that still some or few universities of Pakistan are mashallah performing really good and they are ranked in the top universities of Asia . So atleast universities of Pakistan are competing with top universities of Asia inspite of the fact that many of these universities of Pakistan were setup few years or few decades ago .

Speaking from personal experience, what differentiates US universities from the rest of the world is the amount of research money from the government and the industry.
As a graduate student back in the 70s, I worked on a USAF funded research project to develop night vision devices. It paid for tuition, room and board, allowing me get a good education without spending any money out of my pocket. The papers I published over 40 years ago are still cited by researchers today.

I work at a UK university and can tell you if students don't attend classes their student visa gets revoked. All students work as its unaffordable otherwise.

Outbound mobility from Pakistan was over 103,190 in 2022 when we consult more recent statistics published by government sources in various destinations.
