If attacked by Pakistan and china at the same time, India will launch self-contained and highly-mobile `battle groups'', with Russian-origin T-90S tanks and upgraded T-72 M1 tanks at their core, adequately backed by far superior air cover and artillery fire assaults, for rapid thrusts into enemy territory within 96 hours.

India plans to end the war decisively within the first 96 hours forcing the other sides into a fast submission of ceasefire.

People’s Liberation Army is aware of the capacities of Indian Army and Air Force. It will be exactly opposite of 1962 war. That is why they are busy building massive infrastructure in the Indian border areas especially in Aksai Chin and Tibet.

The real war in that scenario will be between India and China while Pakistan will be used by China to create adequate disturbance for Indian Military.

That is the reason why Lt-General A S Lamba of Indian Army is so keen a massive thrust into Rawalpindi to quiet Pakistanis within 48 hours of the start of assault.

India’s biggest advantage is the its software capabilities in integrating signal intelligence with ground intelligence. India will use algorithmic seek and scan technology to counter the Chinese threats in the North and possible Pakistani nuclear threat in the West.

India is focused on integrating its Navy, Army and Air Force into an integrated command and Control system completely controlled and dominated by the superior software algorithms that can prove deadly in the war front.Riaz Haqhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00522781692886598586noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5848640164815342479.post-78741124561113038672009-12-14T22:25:29.223-08:002009-12-14T22:25:29.223-08:00Here's a report from India Today on India army...Here's a report from India Today on India army-air force debate over cold start:

The army and air force are battling it out over how to beat Pakistan in a flash war if and when that happens.

The Indian Air Force is not convinced about its role in the army's "cold start doctrine" for a future Indo-Pak war.

The strategy envisages the air force providing "close air support", which calls for aerial bombing of ground targets to augment the fire power of the advancing troops.

The growing tension between the two services is evident in a statement of air vice-marshal (retd) Kapil Kak, deputy director of the air force's own Centre for Air Power Studies.

"There is no question of the air force fitting itself into a doctrine propounded by the army. That is a concept dead at inception," Kak said.

A senior army officer disputes the notion of a conceptual difference between the two services. "The air force is supposed to launch an offensive under the doctrine by hitting targets deep inside enemy territory," he said. But he admitted the air force was hesitant about 'close air support'. 'Cold Start' is a post-nuclearised doctrine that envisages a "limited war" in which the army intends to inflict substantial damage on Pakistan's armed forces without letting it cross the threshold where it could think of pressing the nuclear button.

The doctrine intends to accomplish the task before the international community led by the US and China could intercede to end hostilities. Kak said, "The air force has the primary task of achieving 'air dominance' by which Pakistan's air force is put out of action allowing the army to act at will."

But he sees little necessity for the air force to divert frontline fighter aircraft for augmenting the army's fire power, a task that, in his opinion, can be achieved by the army's own attack helicopters and multiple rocket launchers that now have a 100-km range.

But he agrees the two services should work according to a joint plan. It means the air force would launch 'battlefield air strikes' to neutralise threats on the ground based on an existing plan. But that would be different from an army commander calling for air support on the basis of a developing war scenario.

That is not the only problem facing the doctrine. In the past few weeks, many have expressed doubts about the army's ability to launch operations on the basis of the new doctrine.

There are also apprehensions about the army's incomplete deployment of forces, lack of mobility and unattended infrastructure development.

But senior officers say the army has identified the units, which would constitute the eight division-strong independent battle groups out of its three strike corps. These battle groups would comprise mechanised infantry, artillery and armour.

"The forces have exercised as constituted battle groups at least six times since 2004. Each of the identified unit knows where they will be deployed," a senior General said.

According to him, the time for deployment has been cut down to "days". "No longer will the movement of troops require three months like it did when Operation Parakram was launched after the attack on Parliament in 2001," he said.

The army also debunks the idea that the troops lack mobility. Some armed forces observers have said only 35 per cent of the army is mobile inside the country.

They have, thus, concluded that even less numbers would be mobile inside the enemy territory.

The army officials, however, pooh pooh the criticism claiming 100 per cent of the Indian troops are mobile.Riaz Haqhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00522781692886598586noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5848640164815342479.post-90056955043141609682009-05-19T11:04:00.000-07:002009-05-19T11:04:00.000-07:00Musharraf is a genius; he has the potential to mak...Musharraf is a genius; he has the potential to make Pakistan another Turkey, a peaceful powerful only Muslim country in the world with no issues compared to the rest of the useless 50 Muslim nations, practice you’re whatever religion even Islam at your own pace and understanding. Islam cannot be forced upon it has to come from within, on your own being an adult, its a peaceful religion which instructs you to cleanse yourself FIRST to that highest level and then participate with your skills and resources to help the society and then the rest of the world, as all humans were created by god almighty, it was never forced upon nobody ever if you read history. Now if somebody’s interpretation to a point of extremist’s doctrine, they will be severely punished by god in the end for amending it and propagating it in the wrong way with their inhuman behavior, it’s just a way of life, rest is common sense. Why Islam was so popular in the past, because the way the great followers practiced it in a human way, by extending all due respect to non-Muslims in the process, not anymore all Muslims specially these Taliban’s(lazy bums with no job, eating UN/USA wheat like parasites for so many years with no shame that their food came from west, treating women and children as dirt, no desire to do anything, not even for themselves but carry intense amount of heavy duty anger ( I experienced these people/so called ferocious angry refugees many years during Soviet afghan war era, riding the buses owned by these people , riding rickshaws etc, always scared of their threatening behavior which was like an animal in KARACHI and then also few years in Dubai’s taxis, vans and slum markets), they brought weapons, smuggling, crime to Pakistan, looking like holy with their beards but truly a pain with their ways, which is nothing for the sake of god almighty but to feed their own egos and self centered lazy, CONFUSED, selfish lifestyles, those hunk of these Taliban men should be put to real hard labor, with worldly and TRUE real Islamic teachings on the side, that’s the only solution, I think. I pray Mushharuf comes back as a leader soon, he can fix everything in 10 years in that region Pakistan/Afghanistan/India, with a new generation of Pakistanis who think and practice Islam in its true spirit of humanity and brotherhood(awesome example Mr EDHI), not like these freaking Taliban cavemen like terrorist, they will soon be wiped out.amen.India has to slow down to as being a neighbor, it should learn form other superpowers that aggression and evil agendas is never a long term solution, it back fires. Long live Mussharuf a true patriot and a gentlemen and long live Pakistan.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5848640164815342479.post-75990610310278408842009-05-19T09:50:00.000-07:002009-05-19T09:50:00.000-07:00All this Musharraf lionizing needs to be put in pe...All this Musharraf lionizing needs to be put in perspective. Cowasjee calls him the best option of some really terrible ones. He's no savior - he's just much better than Zardari or Sharif.

As for his performance in the "lion's den", Thapar needs to untwist his knickers. The hostility is the result of Pakistan being the initiator of all wars - 1948, 1965, 1971 and 1998 (Musharraf being its chief architect). Also begs the question - why should an Indian PM, or an Indian Army Chief subject himself/herself to questions from an aggressor state? Thapar needs to take this head out of where the sun does not shine.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5848640164815342479.post-50016390228791194262009-05-19T08:26:00.000-07:002009-05-19T08:26:00.000-07:00In addition to the concentration of Indian forces ...In addition to the concentration of Indian forces along Pakistan border, India recently (May 2009) held large scale military exercise near Pakistani border as well, according to the following AFP report in Hindustan Times:

"The Indian military said on Tuesday that it has held large-scale military exercises involving its main strike corps close to the tense border with nuclear-armed rival Pakistan.

The three-day manoeuvres, code-named Hind Shakti ('Indian Power'), were held in the arid plains of northern Punjab state and wrapped up on Tuesday, officials said.

"The exercise entailed participation by mechanised and infantry divisions in a blitzkrieg type armoured incursion," emphasising "rapid penetration into enemy territory," the defence ministry said in a statement.

Officials said the exercises involved the elite Kharga Corps and that similar war games by India's two remaining strike units were also being planned.

"The manoeuvres will factor in various scenarios, including the worsening situation in our neighbourhood," a Kharga Corps commander said.

The exercises come amid increasing concern in New Delhi over the stand-off between the Taliban and the Pakistani military. Both involved Musharraf and Indians. The first one at Stanford University was described as follows by Stanford Daily editorial:

"After delivering a nearly 55-minute speech that highlighted the importance of combating terrorism, resolving political strife in the Middle East and South Asia and other issues, Musharraf faced a question-and-answer session with the Stanford community. No sooner had the microphones been turned on did the cat-calls start flying. Enraged Indian nationalists and other emotionally charged students questioned everything from the legitimacy of Musharraf’s rule to the inherent corruption of the Pakistani government. The end result was ultimately a back-and-forth between strong-willed, would-be inquisitors and an equally defiant, finger-wagging Musharraf."
Undeterred by Indian hostility, Musharraf then went to Delhi to jump into what Karan Thapar described as " the lions den". Here's an excerpt from his piece:

"Last Saturday, as he held the India Today Conclave spellbound for over two and a half hours, my mind jumped to our own politicians and I couldn’t help compare Musharraf to them. Would Manmohan Singh and Sonia Gandhi or LK Advani and Prakash Karat willingly submit themselves to such hostile questioning from an Indian audience and emerge both unscathed and with their amour propre intact?
The question answers itself. Yet Musharraf has done just that but with one critical difference. The audience — the lions’ den — he faced was not his compatriots but Indians, who could be more accurately described as his enemies.
In contrast, it’s not just impossible to picture Manmohan Singh or Sonia Gandhi addressing 500 Pakistanis in the banquet hall of the Marriott in Islamabad; the fact of the matter is they are not even prepared to visit the country. And I would hate to think what could happen if they were questioned the way Musharraf was. Perish the thought!"Riaz Haqhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00522781692886598586noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5848640164815342479.post-20784537657634960292009-05-19T03:20:00.000-07:002009-05-19T03:20:00.000-07:00Musharraf is in a different breed of leaders, the ...Musharraf is in a different breed of leaders, the likes of which have been scarce to say the least in history till date.

He makes me feel proud of being a Pakistani.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5848640164815342479.post-14174382032332926182009-05-19T01:40:00.000-07:002009-05-19T01:40:00.000-07:00musharraf is amazing and he lead pakistan to a far...musharraf is amazing and he lead pakistan to a far better time than we are in now. he was an army man and he had pakistan's best interests at heart. i hope he comes back and i hope pakistanis now have the intellect to embrace him.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5848640164815342479.post-73469047478085318662009-05-18T09:06:00.000-07:002009-05-18T09:06:00.000-07:00Wow, he is goooood, he is greatttttttttt, need to ...Wow, he is goooood, he is greatttttttttt, need to bring him back for another 10 years definately, what a statesmen, may god always bless him, ameen, he is the biggest asset of Pakistan compared to all these corrupted officials. He really means what he says, all logical honest answers to finally bring peace and prosperity in that region.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
