Good one!

STATEMENT 1) People in Pakistan are deeply religious
STATEMENT 2) People in Pakistan are extremely dishonest

If "deeply religious" people are extremely dishonest, what makes you think religion can possibly find a solution to the problem.

If a non-religious society were to be dishonest, it may well be argued that promoting religion would make them more honest. But if a deeply religious society is dishonest, what is the point of promoting religion?

------

Here is the real reason why religious Pakistanis are dishonest: They perceive themselves and their close friends/relatives as "momin". They are indeed honest with their close friends/relatives. But they perceive Pakistan at large to be "murtad" of "kafir", and so they have no sense of religious obligations to Pakistanis at large.

To put this another way, OBSERVE that each person keeps his own house clean, but thinks nothing of throwing garbage on to the common streets. It is the same way with honesty in Pakistan. Everyone is honest with friends, family, associates et cetera. But that honesty evaporates when it comes to dealing with the system at large.

Do you see what I mean?Hopewinshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07885301987622998733noreply@blogger.com
